Some highlights from 2023.

  • A day job.

With the arrival of Hugo, I knew 2022 would be a different kind of year. I made a shift and commitment to focus on mini creative sprints instead of larger, weeks-or-months-long projects. I aimed for things that would satisfy both the need for process and output and could be completed in a day or less.

This led to things like quick design projects and merch runs (mostly Hugo-inspired); audition self-tapes; thoughtful, immersive experience design; building a catalogue of five-minute stories; producing and editing video shorts; magazine, show, and creative pitches and applications; pop-up photoshoots; and more.

  • The 404 Kit Project.

After winning a monthly StorySLAM earlier this year (sharing my early-2000s aspirations of meeting Kelly Rowland), I was invited to participate in the GrandSLAM Championship in December. Thankful for this very special night and the strong sense of community around storytelling here in Atlanta.

  • Voice in Serenbe.

11 days in Chile to close out the year - we piloted a race concept through the Atacama Desert, wrote/produced/directed a short film, helmed the creative for a brand campaign, built an experience and swag package for a select group of Close Friends™️ following along from home, and published Make Running Issue #05. The zine’s only available in physical format, but since you’re here, …. here. All photography was sourced from disposable cameras distributed to the group; words, layout, and creative direction are from me and late nights in between bottle feedings.
