2:55:49. I <3’d Chicago… and she loved me back.
Imma let you finish, but Chicago hosted one of the best marathons of all time.
I met my dudes in the 312 last Friday: Andy, VNL, Christian, MLO. Nonstop good times around the city all weekend. So thankful to have some of the coolest runners in the world as friends.
We were met with perfect weather, a speedy course, and tens of thousands of beautiful people (with hilarious signs). All 5 of us had an incredible race (including a first timer and a coupla smashed PRs). So pumped to break 3 on a Majors course, and… I think I can chip a few more minutes off that time.
I used the Hanson training plan again (with a few modifications). For those keeping score (including me, that’s 1 total people), I’ve broken 3 hours both times on Hanson. From June 1 through October 7:
Total days: 129
Total runs: 99
Total missed training runs: 12
Days on set filming a movie: 17
Total mileage: 817.97 miles
Average mileage per run: 8.26 miles
Biggest month: 233.61 miles (September)
Biggest week: 61.54 miles (September 20-26)
Longest training run: 21.84 miles (September 23)
Shortest training run: 3.08 miles (October 6)
Highest elevation run: 10,032.1 feet above sea level (September 16)
Fastest pace, single mile, flat elevation: 5:31/mi (August 8)
Where I ran: Los Angeles County, CA (59), New York, NY (34); Telluride, CO (3); Chicago, IL (2); Las Vegas, NV (1)
(So much data, so many charts to make, so little time.)
Running is the greatest. 47,000 people can’t be wrong.
See you in New York next month.
