Week 1: Young Storytellers
New group of writers, new mentors in the house! We had a great first day - talking about stories, establishing ground rules, learning names, and exploring the idea of character.
Tried a new exercise I learned at Prodigy Camp last summer: as a group, we discuss what things writers need to know about characters. We make a list of those things on the board… then, mentor-writer pairs asked those questions to each other: mini-interviews. After a few minutes, each group went around and introduced their partner to the group. Fantastic way to jump-start our session.
